Dorito Taco Salad
Crunchy, satisfying taco salad with a sweet dressing twist
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 6 cups iceberg or romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1 can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 large bag nacho cheese Doritos, crushed
- 3/4 cup Western or Catalina dressing
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in skillet over medium-high heat, breaking apart as it cooks
- Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water
- Simmer 2-3 minutes until thickened, then set aside to cool slightly
- In large serving bowl, combine lettuce and garbanzo beans
- Add seasoned ground beef while still warm
- Top with shredded cheese
- Right before serving, add crushed Doritos and drizzle with Western dressing
- Toss gently and serve immediately
Notes
Add the Doritos right before serving to keep them crispy. Also works well to prepare bulk ingredients and then combine individual servings.
